What is a climate normal?
A climate normal is a 30-year average of observations at a weather station. It describes what a place's weather is usually like, which is different from any single year — think of it as the baseline today's forecast plays against. The normals on these pages are Environment and Climate Change Canada's 1981–2010 station normals, taken from the nearest station with a complete record.
