North Weather (northweather.net) is an independent weather website for Canada: current conditions, hourly and 14-day forecasts, radar, weather alerts, air quality and climate for cities and towns from coast to coast to coast.
The backbone of every Canadian page is open data from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC): current conditions from its reporting stations, its public forecasts, colour-coded weather alerts, the Air Quality Health Index, radar and lightning imagery, and climate records. Where ECCC does not publish something we show — the second week of the forecast, precipitation amounts in millimetres, water temperatures — we fill the gap with model and satellite data and say so on the page. The full list is on Data sources & methodology.
North Weather is run by an independent site operator. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of Environment and Climate Change Canada, the Government of Canada or any provincial government. Government data is used under the terms of its open licences.
