Satellite-based sea-surface readings
Readings come from satellite and model sea-surface analysis (marine data via Open-Meteo) and, for the Great Lakes, the NOAA GLSEA lake-surface analysis. Canadian waters peak in August: Lake Erie and the Okanagan reach the low 20s °C, and the Northumberland Strait off PEI and New Brunswick has some of the warmest salt water in Canada, while the Pacific coast rarely tops 15 °C. Smaller inland lakes have no satellite reading — those pages show air temperature and the forecast only.
